The following day, the service decided that the morning trips to Tongariro were on (an afternoon front was moving in). The trip was an adventure in itself. The first van had a "technical" problem, where it suddenly filled with smoke. We boarded a bus coming from town, but with all of us standing in the isles and the banked road, the driver felt the bus lean. So we got kicked off that shuttle to.
